The Sama Sama Hotel KLIA.

A night's layover in Kuala Lumpur had me deciding between two choices of either the Tune Hotel or the Sama Sama hotel which was offering rates of $160US per night which was pretty hefty for a nights stay which had me looking into catching a train into the city centre although it would of been too much trouble transferring back and fourth.

To my luck the Sama Sama which was previously the Pan Pacific had a  one year anniversary special which bought the price down to $100US which was decent and affordable so it was the option I went with for our layover on the way to Hong Kong.

I decided to email and arrange a car service from the hotel which was simple and very straight forward and costed 70MYR (23AUD) for a private car which turned out to be a 2012 Mercedes E series.

As we exited the LCC terminal there was a hotel rep waiting with my name on a board and once we introduced ourselves she immediately went onto her two way radio and one minute later our car arrived and we proceeded on the journey to the Sama Sama hotel which took around 25 minutes.

The hotel entrance.

As we stepped out of the car into the humid heat a porter immediately grabbed our bags and gave us a tag to which he would bring up to our room once we checked in. Once inside the lobby there was cold iced tea for guest's to refreshen and hydrate themselves while we checked in. It was crazily busy in the lobby with masses of tourist's and guests checkin in and out and to which my observations saw no use of lines or queues, it was push and shove to your free will.

After about 2 tourist's pushed in in front of me my patience was stretched to the limit so I ensured I was the next person who would get checked in. The staff kept interaction at a minimum and kept the check in process short and sweet under 3 minutes.

Check in was chockers as there was no line or queue. People would just cut through and in front of another to check in/out.

We made our way towards the elevator and made our way up to level six. The hotel's decor was fresh and clean as it had been recently refurbished so everything was in clean conditions.

The nicely decorated room and comfy bed.

Day chair by the window to watch planes fly.

Working desk and tv.

Day chair and light blocking blinds.

The decor and layout of the room was spacious, modern and cosy which was perfect for a short layover or long stay. The only flaw I saw with the room was some stains on the bed sheet to which I alerted housekeeping and within minutes an attendant was in front of my door to change the sheet.

The light blocking curtains and drapes are controlled by that switch.

The Sama Sama's bathroom was a large well lit and spacious bathroom with toiletries from Kudos Spa Australia. The bathroom layout and decor was clean and simple which made moving around the bathroom very easy.

A large shower cubicle with pretty powerful water pressure.

Essential toiletries available.

Can't seem to find the TV remote? Its located in that box.

Another smart feature of the hotel is that you can control all electronic devices as well at the DND signs by the tablet on the side table.

The view of the airport.

The gym and it's equipment.

Great machines to work out on.

There's nothing better than going for a swim after a sweaty gym session in the humid Malaysian heat. The gym had basic fitness equipment fir the fitness enthusiasts and what better way than to have a post gym swim in the pool was very spacious and featured a spa which was hardly used.  There's plenty of deck chairs surrounding the pool as well as seating where the poolside terrace was.

My stomach started to grumble after swimming and splashing around so it was time for the first meal on Malaysian soil which we ordered from the poolside menu.  Deep fried chicken wings and iced tea it was which was one of the most scrumptious and satisfying meals after a day of flying.

Decorations in the lobby at night.

I purposely kept the blinds open just for the view.

Morning eventually came and a few times I hit the snooze button on the alarm as the sun got brighter and higher in the sky. I was excited as we were off to Hong Kong so I literally jumped out of bed and had a quick shower before heading down to the restaurant for a light breakfast.

The restaurant was very large for an airport hotel which featured a extensive range of hot and cold buffet items to chose from although I wasn't really hungry I went with fresh fruits and freshly squeezed fruit juice to waken me up.

A quick bite to eat and we were back in our room to gather our belongings and check out. I decided to use the express check out option as there were large groups of people fighting and queue jumping which didn't appeal to my tastes.

Why walk when you can buggy!

A convenient feature of the hotel was it's buggy transfer service for guest staying at the hotel which operates 24/7. A ride on one of these bad boys takes approximately five minutes and you're guaranteed looks of curiosity as you zip past people inside the terminal.

We jumped on the waiting buggy and before we knew it we were inside the cold terminal and made our way towards the check in desks.
