The Novotel Nathan Road Hong Kong

The Novotel Nathan road is located ten minutes by walking distance from Jordan Station Hong Kong, an easier alternative is to search for Saigon Road as thats where the hotel is located. A massive Sasa beauty store is located is on the corner which makes it easier to locate the hotel.

The Lobby is located on the first floor so as we entered we faced a concierge desk, a gym and a set of elevators which takes you up to the first floor where the main lobby is located. The hotel had a separate line for Le Club Platinum guest's  which was promptly manned once I was in line. As a platinum member I got two drink vouchers for the bar located next to the lobby, lounge access for complimentary refreshments as well as breakfast in the hotel restaurant daily.

I enquired about a room upgrade and after a few minutes of the agent punching away at her keyboard I had the keys for a executive room on the 10th floor.  The recently renovated room had views of surrounding building and rooftops which was very standard for a few hotels in the same location. The room was compact but of decent size with enough space to store luggage and move around which is the norm for hotel rooms in Hong Kong.

The pretty comfortable queen bed.

The queen bed was of great quality that was very easy to fall into a deep sleep after spending the day roaming the colourful streets of Hong Kong, the air con worked well and ensured the room was kept at a cool temperature throughout my stay.  The room was bright, minimal and no frills which was great for budgeting and definitely bang for buck regarding location and service wise.

The bathroom vanity, toilet and shower.

Vanity and storage space.

The bathroom was bright and neat with ample space for two people to be in there at one time. The rectangular shower cubicle didn't have a rain shower head but the water pressure was just right as there's nothing worse than having a weak water pressured shower!  The drainage was a little slow to drain the water and often water would overflow onto the bathroom floor which left a bit of a mess that required the use of extra towels to clean up. Novotel branded toiletries are provided which had a soft aroma.

Housekeeping did a good job of lining up my scents.

The closet and ample storage space.

Turndown service.

I returned to my room after a day out and noticed housekeeping offered a turndown service which was a nice touch, bottles of water were also provided and left in the fridge which was a smart thought.

Complimentary fruits, chocolates and sparking wine.

The Novotel also provided a basket of fruits, chocolates and a bottle of sparking wine as a welcoming gesture which was greatly appreciated, its nice to be made welcome and feel at home which was a generous gift for platinum members.

Complimentary buffet breakfast was served in the hotel restaurant on the first floor which offered vibrant views of the street below if your table happens to run along the stretch of glass. Food offerings were very mixed with Asian and Western options available like congee, dumplings, cold cut items, fruits and cereal. A chef was also on standby to take omelette and special requests.

A different view of the seating area.

The salad bar and cold cuts.

The hot items area.

Coffee machine.

The hotel's gym on the ground floor had a variety of machines and equipment to workout which also had bottles of water on standby on a desk in a back corner. A thing to note is that the Novotel doesn't have a swimming pool but the location and general vibe of the hotel makes it a very well suited place to stay to explore the surrounding areas. I didn't encounter any problems with my eight day stay and found staff to be very polite and courteous.

If your stay is long and you need to do laundry then head outside the hotel towards Nathan road, go across and under the walkway and turn left, head down the street and you'll see a laundry washing and folding service which has a very fast turn around time!
